Harvest Moon IOH is... - 9/10

Harvest Moon is back! And better than ever...only yes it's pretty much still the same. Isn't there something magical about that itself? Island of Happiness big! And completeing it will take some serious time and skill.

Story

As you wake up from a shipwreck you find yourself stranded on an island with a family of farmers. You all decide since your there you'll start living you life working hard and improving the land. Soon after other people begin to show up and boom you start the community!

GAME PLAY

The stylus is a huge tool during game play. you use it for just about everything. Selecting tools, using tools, talking to folk, takeing care of animals, blah blah blah! If you lose your stylus for some reason while playing you will play no more!

extra note: I advise you get a screen cover because playing this game with scratch the life out of your DS!

SOUND

The music is pleasent in this title. sound effects are clear and even in some ways better than past titles. However like in most HM games it has like only five tunes that get old after a week or two. I think that they should make a jukebox feature again!

GRAPHICS

The graphics are way better than what rune factory was. that much I'm sure about. Many colors are present and the characters are very clear. IOH is fun and wild while RF was all earthy and dark. IOH has a warm feel and is kinda animeish-ish-ish.

-What You Should Know-

To get farther in the game and to get more people to live in it you must spend a lot a gold!

There are alot more characters to interact with!

You can play as boy or girl!

Upgrading your tools is done differently and is super hard! You must collect stones called Wonderfuls and you only get them by pretty much doing the impossible every year!

The love intrests in this game are really fun to interact with!

Lumber takes forever to obtain high amounts in!

Fishing is actually useful in this game!

There is no mayor!

Items have a Freshness!

-My Last Thoughts-

This game is really fun but, I think that past HM fans will like it alot more than newcomers. Finding the best daily routine for your farm is really hard in this HM animals are harder to take care of and you have to do special things just to get a dog and horse! Island of Happiness is much better than past installments and it does have much more to offer.
