Just before someone says "this isn't about gaming", we currently have two websites up now, www.MyBluRay.com.au and www.MyTelly.com.au both of which have nothing to do with gaming.
Obviously, being a blog about film, this has reference to MyBluRay.
This list is not what I believe are the 10 greatest movies of all-time, but are 10 films I have a hell of a lot of fun watching. Critically, some of them are really, really bad films. But entertainment wise, they break the glass. Or the meter. Or whatever.
10. The Neverending Story
If anyone born within the years 1980-1987 has not seen this film, you are doing yourself one major injustice. "Bastian!"
9. Vegas Vacation.
Ok, so not the greatest film ever made, but this is when Chevy was on his fall and is probably his last film that was actually funny.
8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Part II and III sucked, but the first one was just perfect. It only added to the fire that was my jealousy of a particular cousin that had the entire friggin ninja turtles toy collection.
7. Gremlins
This film is probably the only one in this list that received critical acclaim. It had charm, horror, humour and thrill that only the decade that was the 80s was able to achieve all in one film. A must see for anyone born 85-onwards. An ageless classic.
6. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
Not a fantastic film by any means but a classic comedy that will forever be remembered.
5. Fight Club
Brad Pitt. Edward Norton. Meat Loaf as a fat transexual. What else could anyone want?
4. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Cristina Applegate. Ahh. Cristina Applegate. Ahh.
3. Batman
One of Tim Burton's finest and a Jack Nickolson classic. An awesome suprehero film that will never age.
2. Point Break
Another film that didn't go well with critics but anyone who watches this film, both male and female, wants to be one of the following 4 things:
A. A surfer
B. Keanu Reeves
C. Patrick Swayze
D. An FBI agent working in LA.
1. Can't Buy Me Love
Ah, the decade that was the 80s. Due to the fact that I grew up with two older sisters who were early-80s protegees, films like this were forever embedded in my VHS player. Dr. McDreamy plays Ronald in by far his most sophisticated performance yet!
