How to use Photobucket for MySites

One of the more frequently asked questions would have to be, “How do I add an image to my post” this guide should help you out with that question.

This guide will show you how to do the following:

• How to create an account with Photobucket
• How to upload an image to Photobucket
• How to retrieve the image code from your uploaded image on Photobucket
• How to edit the image code for use on MyMedia sites

• Go to Photobucket.com and start by clicking on the big red Join Now button

• Now create a user name and password, then click Next Step

• Now Fill out your information into the provided boxes, don’t worry about them sending you spam, on occasion you might get an email notifying you of some added features, read the terms and conditions if you want to, then once done, click I accept Sign me up button

• Click the Browse button to search you computer for the image you want to upload, you can upload multiple images at once if needed

• Once you have selected the image you want to upload from your computer, it should look like the below image, then click the Upload button

• Once your image is successfully uploaded it will part of your album and should look like this

• From here you will now a have a few options to play around with, the one I would like to mention is the Resize option because when adding an image to a post it’s best to reduce the size down to website/ email 320 x 240, that way you don’t fill up the entire screen with your image.

• Now to get that image to show in a post, review, news, or reply you have to copy the IMG code eg. [IMG]http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w77/mymediamember/example.png[/IMG] This is done by simply clicking in the IMG code box, which automatically copies the code for you.

• with you IMG code copied simply paste that code into your post by either using right click, then paste or pressing control + V.

• For this code to be recognised by MyMedia sites you have to edit it slightly by changing [IMG]example[/IMG] to [img]example[/img] So it’s just changing the upper case letters in the beginning and end of the code to lower case letters

• So there you have it, your post should look like this

If you wish not to have an album of your uploaded images you can also try out ImageShack which is a quick easy option but has less features
