Sony were never going to be big fans of a Nintendo DS exclusive Grand Theft Auto title. After all there was a time when the game that changed everything, Grand Theft Auto III, was exclusive to Sony and their PS2. While they were surprised by the announcement there hasn't really been too much trash talk and they will be interested to see the final product.
“It’s an interesting launch on DS. It raises some eyebrows in a lot of areas. It’ll be interesting to see how that sells” said John Koller, Sony’s head of PSP hardware marketing in North America.
Koller basically sums it up as unbiasedly as he can. Chinatown Wars was a shock if not the big news to come out of E3 2008. The cel-shaded top down view was an interesting way to go, however from early reports it looks as if it was a very successful decision.
