News \ EA's Peter Moore Challenges President Obama

EA's Peter Moore has challenged the U.S. President, Barack Obama, who last week said we should be "raising our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside". Moore believes the President should give EA Sports Active a workout before deciding to walk away from videogames.

Moore wrote on his blog "it may be time for the President and his family to put their Wii to good use and fire up the 30-Day Challenge with EA SPORTS Active. This is a “game” even the President may not want to “step away” from." He continues "Mr. President, here is my challenge to you: Try EA SPORTS Active and I guarantee you’ll need aides saying “Yes You Can!” to finish your first workout."

"I continue to be excited about what EA SPORTS Active is bringing to the world of physical fitness and the way it is changing people’s lives in the process – whether you’re someone who hasn’t broken a sweat in 10 years or someone who hits the gym six days a week. In fact, I know he’s in pretty good shape, but I guarantee the President wouldn’t look quite so smooth walking across the White House lawn to Marine One the morning after his first session with EA SPORTS Active."

Our very own Gaetano Prestia worked up a sweat earlier this month, and he didn't even accidentally flying ninja kick his TV.

It's a different day/age... If you go outside you are likely to get mugged. If you send your kids out to play, they are likely to get abducted or beaten up. It simply is not safe anymore for anyone. Every time anyone goes out now they are at risk of some type of violence and you can even be shot these days for any multitude of reasons.
Should/does this stop people from going out? Well no, and that is okay, just need to be aware of the possibility of danger with just a simple fun trip to a mall, shopping for groceries, anything.
So anything that allows you to play and get some exercise in the home is tech helping everyone! Just playing games alone i feel is an important developmental stage for anyone, but add in exercise and it only gets better. Sure you can and many have home gym setups with weights and treadmills and the like, this just adds another tool to being/keeping in good health without the worry of something bad happening to you from going out.
That is of course barring a home invasion!
