But it would be hard because the first gym leader is rock type and his moves would do next to nuthing damage wise, and the 3rd or 4th badge (cant remember) is water type and he would get pwned then

The only advantage chimchar really has is its fighting moves it can do but you have to wait till later on to use them

I started with turtwig generally for a couple of reasons.The big type advantage against the game.Grass is my favourite type.Chimchar was the most picked out of the world so i just picked the one that no-body picked

Chimchar is easy to beat the first gym with generally if you level it up to about 14 when it will evolve and learn a fighting type move called "Mach Punch" Fighting is super effective against rock generally meaning that you will win the battle against the gym quite easily.

Piplup is also a very good starter but can have a couple of troubles in the game like beating the second gym which is a grass type and it has the type advanatage against you making it hard to win unless you have a staraptor in your team.

EV=Effort Values Killing different pokemon meens they give you different EV's towards a skill that you want really high.

IV = Individual Values The individual values example that a breloom would obvioulsy have more attack then defence making that its individual value compared to other pokemon
