Hardware \ DS "Mods"

Hey, my brother just bought a DSlite with Pokemon Pearl and Emerald, and wants to get an R4DS (NDS Slot) and CycloDS (GBA Slot) so that he can play the back ups of the games, and others.

My question is that would those two games be able to recognize each other when both plugged in like in the original cartridges?

Your question should be, how can a DS run two games at once, even if they are on separate slots?

Pokemon Pearl/Diamond lets you "migrate Pokémon from Emerald by inserting it into the GBA slot during the game.

I know that Wii-man has said this but I just would like to reiterate that the Cyclods and the R4 are slot1. ie. they both only fit in the ds slot.

I am quite confident that the Cyclods by itself can not play GBA roms (you could use an emulator or an Slot-2 device).

Sorry can't answer your original question about whether pokemon pearl can pick up the emerald rom on a slot-2 device. If it could do this than an slot-1 pearl rom would be able to do this.
