Pokemon \ Could it work?

I have a question which the answers to I'd like to hear only if you have tried it yourself or it is an informed opinion because I don't have the means or knowledge of the subject to try it myself.

If I have a say M3 Perfect in slot 2 with a pokemon rom and a legit copy of either pearl/diamond in slot 1. Would the DS game repond to the slot 2 device as though it were a real game cartrige?

Want I specifically want to know is could pokemon be transferred via pal park from the rom to the DS game using a slot 2 device?

If it was the other way round, legit copy of GBA pokemon in GBA slot while running homebrewed Pokemon Pearl/Diamond, that'd work.

Unless the slot 2 device is able to run as a GBA cart while you have the DS game going, thus being a "proper" game in the slot it'd work but seeing as i havent actually had any experience with Slot 2 devices i'm only going off an educated guess


So if it works as a GBA game and is identified as one upon boot-up of the DS before going into pokemon (or unless you can then boot into slot 1 device from slot 2 device or something) then it is possible, though i can't be entirely sure as i don't know how Slot 2 devices are able to work.

I've been thinking about this for a while too and the only solution I can see is to get an original GBA cart of the game I want to play with my DS game.

I have some original GBA games I got off eBay but despite what they said on the auction page they all turned ot to be USA versions and the game file deletes itself when I load up Diamond (AUS) to transfer the pokemon.

Thanks for the info so far, if anyone else has tried it and can shut this down once and for all that'd be great though.
