It seems ludicrous that a version of the Xbox 360 smash hit Mass Effect could make it’s way to the Nintendo DS, but BioWare's Miles Holmes has confirmed this is a possibility after stating that the company is looking to develop existing franchises on portable consoles.

Recently Holmes mentioned "We have a lot of big plans for Mass Effect. Having a DS version would be an awesome way to keep interest alive and keep it going in addition to the next one [Mass Effect 2]." Commenting on which existing franchise he would like to see on DS he said "I tell you which one I would want. I want the Mass Effect one".

BioWare is currently working on the upcoming RPG Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, due out later this year. Sonic Chronicles is BioWare’s first game on the Nintendo DS, and if all goes to plan will be the first of many. BioWare hope to release portable versions of their popular franchises to support the console releases.
