Software \ Dalmation in Nintendogs...how do I get it.

i have a dalmation, but then i bought dalmation and friends... so it was there from the beginning... i have wifi'd with peeps and after that have had new breeds i could get... but dont know what the lucky collar does or what it even is, but from a quick read, it has nothing to do with breeds... can unlock breeds with trainer points, but didnt see dalmations listed there either...
