i was looking at buying a wireless router for my wii ds and xbox so i can play online. i was just wondering what type i should get and from where?

I'd speak to bigpond about this. I'm using a Billion BiPAC 7404VGP-M through Internode, and it's as solid as a rock.

My Wii, DS, Notebook and spare PC in the spare bedroom all work fine.

Telstra will normally try and sell you one of their preconfigured modems, but you can buy your own. Just make sure it's on Telstra approved modem list, which can be found here

For what it's worth, I'd look at the BIPAC 7402 that is approved by Telstra.

Staticice (a free shopbot type electronics site) shows that it's available from $140

The only thing you will need to do is configure it, and that depends on your ability. Either way, Telstra should be able to walk you through it over the phone (as long as it's on that approved list)

No offence, but not true.

Different wireless routers support different security methods when it comes to wireless security (AES, WPA, SSID Broadcasting), and some routers allow you to update them when they release new firmware etc..

The latest firmware for my Billion automatically sets up the ports and port forwarding for the Wii and DS.

I used to think that, but my ISP actually made me realise that there is alot of choice and alot of consideration when purchasing a new router.
