It's a long shot I know, but is there any way at all that accidentally deletd data can be recovered from a game card?

not so much a long shot, as it is done every day... yes it is possible, need to buy or otherwise acquire some sort of data recovery software, and learn how to use it... tho it isnt hard, it does take some know how... if you have written to the card since data loss, i can say you probably will not be able to recover anything from it... but it is still recoverable in most cases, just harder for people unfamiliar with the process, and without the proper equipment... this leaves most home consumers out of the loop...

but overall, it is worth a try, something to play with if you are so inclined, and it pays to get decent/good at it... comes in handy...

good luck

from an original game card... well that is odd, but it is still a memory card, so the answer is yes, but you will not have the equipment to do anything about it, and tho it can be obtained, it probably wouldnt be worth it for you to do or try... sorry

I think Sam is talking about a legit game card, not a memory card.

Yes - a standard DS Lite game card - not a conventional memory card that I can recover data from on my laptop. It presumably is something that requires a legit game card 'adapter' for a laptop and then knowledge of the format of the data memory on the game card.

There must be a market for this kind of service if it didn't cost too much - I'm sure kids are deleting stuff accidentally all over the world and causing themselves and their parents a lot of grief!

Yeah, unless you want to homebrew a serial adapter for the DS card (since none exist commercially, being a means to rip games for distribution), you can't touch that data.

Don't ask me for specifics because I don't know.
