I used ds web browser earlier and I couldn't search the net because I didn't have something (sorry i really can remember >.<) Are the any alternatives that doesnt need whatever prevented me from using the normal webbrowser?

Any no if it isn't working I doubt you will be able to get it to a web browser is a very complicated piece of software and don't worry your not missing much the ds never really could run a web browser

It can be useful for travelling.

You need something broadcasting wifi to use it so at home you'd need a modem/router that does wireless or the Nintendo wifi adapter.

Travelling, you need a wireless hotspot that is open or WEP-encrypted only (not sure how you get the key for that if it's public).
