Like say if you would like cindiquil but you also want squirtle all you need to do is get a friend to pick a starting pokemon that you want then beat first boss so you can trade with a friend but if your friend my still want that pokemon you duplicate it then trade.
(But you must do first boss to enable you to trade or vs another person)
