New Super Mario Bros Review - 9/10
I see you!
Grow, shrink, climb your way through yet another unforgetable Mario game. With the many new features in this instant classic, you will be begging for more, and more and yes..more. Nintendo have really used the capabilities of the DS to go beyond normal lengths of a 2D game, they are giving gamers a whole new way to look at Mario on the duel screen!

Storyline
Need i really say anything about a storyline for this game? Mario and Peach are strolling through a beautiful valley, when Mario runs to Peach's castle as a lightning bolt strikes the castle. While sucessfully distracting Mario, the coniving Bowser Jnr runs up and snatches her, whilts she was ungaurded by her protecter(and lover) Mario. Mario rushes back to Peach's aid, but is too late. Once again, Mario is forced to get her back, in a dangerous quest through many different lands.
Gameplay
These games haven't yet let me down with the gameplay, so why should it start here? With the all new features this game presents, it is hard to say its crap! The new items available are a great help during the game, yet sometimes, for me, they were a pain in the butt! I believe the item i most enjoyed was the Mega Mushroom. You get a sample in the first level if you hit a certain block. Another item i enjoyed was the Blue Koopa Shell. It was cool how the map below displayed a map of the world you're in in 3D, and while your playing, shows you how far of the level you have passed and gives you an item for emergencies. Nintendo has yet to let me down with a Mario game!

Graphics, Sound and Replay Value
Im putting these 3 in because theres not much to say. I admit the graphics have been updated, It wasn't skippy or glitchy, so i was happy. Also the effects are brilliant. Thwamping enemies is awesome, but a pain in the butt. I was on this last world and first level, theres like 4 crows that wont go away, stupid halloween pumpkins, and if i remember correctly, bullet bills all over the place. I finally got through it!
The sound is decent, all the right background music for the setting of the level, and all cool sound effects for characters and items!
And last but not least, Replay Value. If you get stuck into this game, you will finish in a few hours, probably not even that. There are those collectable coins you collect throughout the levels, which may keep you busy.
