The 2008 Game Developers Conference wrapped up last week but not before the highly respected Game Developers Choice awards. Nintendo were nominated in 3 categories up for Best Game of the Year and Best Game Design both for the Wii smash hit Super Mario Galaxy as well as Best Handheld Game for the DS.

Nintendo could have won all 3 but ended up taking home the later for the well deserving The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The game continues to sell strong worldwide and has passed the 1 million mark since its release in October 2007.
