It’s that time of year again as the eGames Expo comes to Melbourne from November 14th-16th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. We’re really excited about this year’s event for two reasons.
Firstly, there is going to be an unprecedented number of fantastic titles on show. From newly released to big coming soon titles, there will be plenty of action on the show room floor across all over the major gaming platforms.
Secondly, MyMedia is going to have their very own booth at the event! Saturday and Sunday at eGames looks set to be a massive one at the MyMedia booth, with a FIFA 09 tournament running from 3pm on the Saturday and a NBA 2K9 Tournament running on the Sunday from 1:30pm. Show off your gaming skills, bring the trash talk and strap those wrists up for your chance to win a copy of FIFA 09 on PS3 thanks to EA Sports or a copy of NBA 2K9 on XBOX 360 thanks to 2K Sports.
But those fantastic reasons aren’t the only ones why you should be at eGames this weekend. We don’t care if you live in Darwin, Broome or, dare we say, Adelaide (ouch!), there is absolutely no excuse to miss the event this weekend in Melbourne.
From Atari to EA and Ubisoft, all of the major gaming developers and publishers will be on show at the event with some of their greatest titles! There’s also a fantastic “Kids Zone” that showcases all of the latest games and products for a younger audience.
Playstation, XBOX and Alienware will all have their own “Zones” at eGames so the floor will be covered when it comes to this generations console heavyweights!
Then you have the Intel eGames Stage that will be hosted by 3-time eGames hosting team, Yug and Matt from AustralianGamer.com. Everyone’s favourite reviewer Yahtzee Croshaw as well as Jason Hill from The Age blog “Screenplay” will be making special appearances on stage to talk about everything new and happening in the gaming industry, from major issues to the latest new releases.

On the games front, eGames will have everything covered, from hardcore FPS, to RTS and RPGs, to action and music titles. They’ll be something for everyone at eGames 08!
Some of the great soon-to-be-released titles on show at eGames are Damnation (Playable at Atari booth), Disney Sing It feat. Camp Rock & Hannah Montana (Playable at Kids Zone Booth), James Bond: Quantum of Solace (Playable at Alienware PC Booth) , Prince of Persia (Playable at Ubisoft booth), Left 4 Dead (Playable at EA Both), Need For Speed Undercover (Playable at EA Booth) and Shaun White Snowboard (Playable at Ubisoft Booth).
They’ll also be a fantastic line-up of recently released titles on the show floor. From Gears of Wars 2, FIFA 09, LittleBigPlanet and Mirror’s Edge plus many more, get ready to show off your skills in some of the years most acclaimed titles!
