When the DSi was released in Japan horror filled the hearts of homebrew gamers all over the globe as they found the third version of the Nintendo DS was incompatible with current flash cards. Just a month later Acekard have announced a new version of their flash card that is compatible with the Nintendo DSi, the Acekard 2i. The new flash card is capable of everything it's predecessor was, such as allowing the ability to play homebrew titles and will also run on the original and DS Lite.

How the 2i differs from the original flash card is unknown, the change could either be in hardware, or firmware. Remember that Nintendo can release firmware updates for the DSi, as they do with the Wii which often blocks out homebrew. While this is nothing to worry about it is possible that Nintendo could block out the 2i in a future update.

Pricing for the Acekard 2i along with availability is yet to be announced.
