Why to get the DS

The touch screen is the main feature that attracts buyers. It has a unique style of gaming, as too does the other next generation console of Nintendo, the Wii. The graphics arnt "wow" but they do the job to play great games like Mario Kart and Metriod Prime Hunters. The DS Lite is compact and the LCD screen is protected by the shell which folds down to protect the system, unlike its competitior the PSP. The battery life is great and the sound is good. The range of games on the market really show off its capabilitys to the boarders.

M3 is one of many flash carts available www.myds.com.au/ which can be used for home brew applications and to play media files, like MP3's. You can also play MP3's using the Nintendo MP3 player www.myds.com.au/ which is available on import only.
I would highly recommend buying the DS, because of the huge amount of game available, plus you have back catalog of Gameboy Advance titles which are compatible, and on top of that there is an almost endless supply of accessories from Nintendo and third party companies.

Apparently nothing, the R4 DS is more popular. They have the same specs and offer the same compatibilities... they can even use the same firmware (with modifications). The R4 DS is very popular at the moment due to the latest firmware (1.11) boasting 100% compatibility with homebrew apps and DS roms.

But I still don't own my R4 DS due to the shortage of them at the moment, so I can't verify what I'm saying...
