Buy/Sell/Trade \ Need Help with DS Flash Cards

Eclectos11 says:

hello, im going to be buying a nintendo ds very soon and would like to buy a flash card with it. I do not know much about them. Could any one please advise in which i should get and where from? I would like functionality like: music player, video player, for it to be capable of 4GB storage.

Any help would be much appreciated

Guyver says:

I would go for R4DS, I find it easy to use just drag and drop MP3's onto your SD card and fire up the Moonshell program on your DS and your away.
I just use a couple 2 GB SD cards and that's more than enough storage for me at the moment.
and welcome to the site Eclectos11 just a friendly suggestion, Flash carts and their abilities is a bit of a touchy subject because of legal reason, so before we get to involved in this topic please take a moment to look at our rules about homebrew applications www.myds.com.au/
Thanx mate.

Eclectos11 says:

Ohh... ok. Thats cool. The only reason im interested in Flash Cards is purely for music and video. I'm not at all interested in illegal games.

And on another note, i would like a flash card that can play music while the Ds's cover is shut.

Again any help would be much appreciated

Guyver says:

The only accessory I know that allows you to listen to MP3's while the DS is closed is the Nintendo MP3 player www.myds.com.au/

According to this forum, M3 lite with Moonshell can play music while
the Ds is shut.

the ds-x also will play music(has a inbuilt mp3 player) and has flashing LED's to turn on if you want. I have one but as a flashcart can hardly reconmend it. see www.myds.com.au/ for a similar discussion from a coupla days ago, go to www.youtube.com/ for a sample of the ds-x

Yeh I'm curious about this myself; I'd prefer to avoid ordering online. Any West Aussies know of local stores that stock M3s etc.?

Eruntalon says:

I recommend OzModChips who are the official Australian resellers for the CycloDS Evo, and has it for sale but not in stock at the moment (but it's currently been shipped out to suppliers worldwide according to the cards homepage). And without further a due : www.ozmodchips.com/

If you see it cheaper within Australia they'll match their prices. You can also purchase bundles - the flash card with a micro sd card for a lesser price.

DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CODE 'MYDSISCOOL' TO GET $5 OFF THE TOTAL PRICE (the site uses this offer in conjunction with members of this website).

P.S.: Wouldn't having the DS closed block the noise coming from the speakers?

I suppose you could use the headphones.

I know about ozmodchips but they've only got one option for slot 2 cards. Furthermore, there doesn't seem to be any passcard for it apart from buying a functional slot 1 card :/

As I was saying, I'd be very appreciative if anyone can direct me to a brick/mortar store that sells M3 etc. in Perth.

Pretty much all Homebrew apps let you play music while the DS is in standby. I use LMP-ng.

Good luck. Selling Flash carts and modchips is exactly the opposite of why someone runs a bricks-and-mortar store: to sell games.

@Eruntalon

What i meant with the ds being closed, is that it literally could play music in my pocket(closed)with my headphones plugged in. *Hope that makes sence*

imprompt says:

Due to the nature of flashcarts you won't find them in major retailers, best best would be specialist gaming or modding stores. There should be one somewhere in Perth, I know brisbane has a couple. Can't guarantee they stock what you want tho

Yes, I answered you just above your post. Pretty much all Homebrew apps can play music with the DS lid closed. It's a function of the application, not the Flash cart.

I was also wondering if you import Ds from over seas, what complications would it create? Cause im interested in the red/black DS which going to be released soon in US of A

No complication unless you get it from China or Korea.

Another query of mine is if there is a programme that could play iTunes protected music files on the DS? Cause alot of my music is bought from the iStore.

easy peasy answer buy aa r4 revolution from www.bambogaming.com

for like 38 bucks free postage

then buy a 4 gb micro sd card from ebay

and this is gfrom a customer not a person who is trying to make sales and is abusing this site

Eclectos11 says:

For sure ozmodchps.com looks like the best place to buy a Cyclo Evolution.

Im really interested in finding a program on the DS that can play AAC (iTunes protected music files). Can any some one please lead me in the right direction?

What about warranty? Can you send it into Nintendo Australia if you get dead pixels and such?

08/15/2007 Perth

Eruntalon says:

Firstly, sorry for the misinformation on OzModChips' discount.

Secondly:

ShuffleZ said: what do you mean 50%?

That only 50% of current orders can be processed at this point in time.

Incase anyone is in the same boat as me, I found two places in Perth stocking flash carts:
> The Mod Shop - M3-Simply, Passcards, G6, and some leftover M3
> iTech - R4
Both are dearer than online stores but if your like me and prefer to see what your buying you can try and haggle down the price a bit.

Still haven't found the M3 Lite i'm looking for
