Hardware \ Help: US DS in AU

I also have a usb charging cable for my AU DS which charges the DS throught the CPU. Would this be fine? I dont wanna blow up my sexy DS!

I *think* you should be able to buy an Aus NDS powerpack, but I haven't been quite game to test it myself. I think it should be okay if the output on the NDS powerpack and the input on the NDS are both the same, e.g. 5.2V/450mA. The powerpack itself needs to cope with the 120 or 240V.

So summary:
1. powerpack needs to be rated to the voltage in Aus. (240V)
2. powerpack output needs to match NDS input (5.2V/450mA on my japanese version)

People can feel free to shoot down my suppositions.

Go USB if you can't afford to toast your DS.

(If your powerpack supports both 120V and 240V, then all you need is an adapter plug, if it only supports 120V, you need a transformer and they are pretty bulky and expensive)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES try to use the charger that came with it with an adapter. 240 volts going through a 120v adapter will only throw your safety switch, blow a fuse or just burn out rrrreeeeaaaallll quick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT WORTH IT.

On another note spyke, are you aware that having bought your DS from the US, the warranty isn't worth sneezing on, i'd take real good care of that unit if i were you. that's the only reason i paid a bit more and bought mine here. truth be known you can save a ton of money buying stuff like that from the US at the minute.

its not so much the power that goes into a recharger but the power comming out so if you look at the output on the back of charger aus say's 5.2 so if us charger says 5.2 output as well the your fine to use either i would be quite confident as saying they are same as they are not direct current but converted down to lower volts
