It depends what type of games you like, personally I also have a Wii and a Xbox 360 (yes currently RRODed for those of you playing at home). The 360 is good for online gaming and I like many of the FPS's it has to offer. The Wii I use for more casual type games with other people in my family such as Wii sports then also for more of the Metroid Prime 3 type games myself.

In short I use my 360 for the more 'hardcore' FPS's and online games and my Wii for a but of fun and also to introduce other people to gaming.

well, i boycot sony stuff for purely personal reasons... and wont buy xbox for microsoft reasons... but the wii is an exceptional system if you like the way it works and the types of games available... if you like playstation/xbox games, you do know you can buy a controller for your pc and play most of the better games on the pc... so i dont feel left out not having those systems... i for one see no difference playing the games on the pc over the console, and they are much cheaper for the pc...

It's a 3 year warranty for RROD only 1 year for everything else

16.4% of consoles have gotten RROD the newer consoles are much less likely to get it

Yeh, i'm seeing the 8800's drop below $300 these days brand new from the shelf.

Hardware in general, 500gb internal for around 100?!??! AH!!

$5 gig for a doller! Tell that to the IT men 20 years ago lol.

Becuase the 9600's are more expensive than the 8800's, and they perform more poorly. People should just wait for the 9800 GTS. :S

On another note, i need a new computer...

Otherwise the Xbox is a good price for High Definition gaming if you don't want the blu ray player.

The wii is a very innovative gaming system but no high definition and relatively expensive to the Xbox360.

What God-forsaken planet do you live on? From my local retail store: 512MB 9600GT $289, 512MB 8800GT $369 and up.

And beside that, the 9600GT only delivers an average 12% less than an 8800, so what you should be saying is that if a serious PC gamer gets two 9600s into SLI, that you'll shoot them (may as well get a top-of-the-line 8800, since one card is always better than two). For everyone else, and especially for people who are just getting into PC gaming, the 9600GT is pure Win.

Well really it sounds like most people would recommend a Wii.
I've had a Nintendo 64, i've got a DS, so would the next most logical step be a Wii?

I have only played an XBOX 360 and a Wii for a short ammount of time (Great LAN Party distraction) and I would say you cant go wrong with a Wii, XBOX 360 are fun too, Havent tried a PS3, but I own a PS2, and have had many years of fun with it (Even if I neglect it in favor of my PC) I mainly use it to play DVD's on my Teev these days.

But Wii is a great choice if its going to live in a Family/Living room its fun, and easy, and great to play with friends and family. Its graphics are less than the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, but it manages to make up for it with fun, I think.
