Hardware \ Original or Lite?

Just a quick question, Im looking to get myself a Nintendo DS, and was wondering if there are any significant differences between the Original Version and the Lite version. Which one would you recommend that I buy? If it factors into the equation, I am looking at getting one of them SD card readers to turn it into a Media station as well, probably the Supercard DS One, that is of course if you guys can recommend a better alternative.

I have had both and can say the lite is worth the extra money since it is so much more comfortable to use and portable. While it's nicer the original or 'phat' DS is still a very good console and if you don't want to spend the extra money you'll still get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

THank you for your prompt replies! I was leaning more towards the Lite having read that the stylus is loonger (Confound my hammy fisted hands!)

I do have another question however, will I be able to play Japanese Carts or Roms on a unit bought in Australia? Or will I have to flash the DS's bios or something to that extent?

It's like when the ds pjhat was out it was one of the biggest things. When ds lite came out ds phat was like " hay what is this contraption taking my spot light "
