The thing about daycare and training is the daycare chooses what moves it learns, and what ones the Pokemon doesn't, so it's a real pain. I really don't recommend training that way, I put my surfing Pikachu in daycare hoping to breed another one with ditto, but it just made a normal one and even worse the daycare got rid of the originals Surf move.

Both are good.

As for obtaining items, SS seems fine, but it lacks the underground so you miss out on Plates/Shards and extra evo stones.

EV training isn't bad, since you can chuck a Sweet Scenter onto your 3rd spot, make the SS the second out-of-battle move and voila. The Pokemon menu will line up with that spot where you can tap on the poke with SS and easier than wasting your D-Pad.
Depends on what your school of thought it with the EV training though, but I like to get it out of the way asap. I prefer lower Exp to EV as well, EXP share helps a lot with this (lower exp for the same EV, I also get to side-train another poke I want EVs with)

HP @ Night @ National Park -> Hoothoots 100%. Could also use Viridian forest at night too. Should be able to get your <252 HP EVs within one level for most lvl35+ pokes.

My T ID is 26926 if anyone wants to rig up their Lottery wins.
Another thing, if anyone wants a breeded Kanto starter, Cyndaquils, Totodiles or Abras (some with sync) then just reply with offers.
