Great new mario game - 8/10

This is one of the best mario games for the DS. There are six modes to play Mario Kart in. Grand Prix, Time Trial, VS, Battle, WiFi and Missions. There is also a send/recieve ghost feature in the time trials mode. This allows you to make a time trial and send it to a friend to race against! Youcan also reveive friends ghosts.

My favourite modes are Wifi and battle. Remember the battle mode for mario kart on N64? Balloon popping? This is like that, only there are new courses to fly shells and bombs in as well. There is also a Shine runners option in battle. SHine runners is when a number of shines are placed around a course and players have to collect shines. When you get his you lose a shine. and it is randomly placed somewhere round the course. In balloon battle, players are given one balloon each to start with, with 4 in reserve. you blow into the microphone to blow balloons up and you can have three on your kart at any one time. When you lose all te balloons on your kart you are eliminated, even If you had some in reserve.

WiFi is the most fun however. You can pick to search for friends, regional players, worldwide players and rivals. When you are connected with 1-3 other players, you will see their record and their emblem. players then choose a character and kart and each player votes on a course. The course with the most votes is raced on. The race itself is in in 100cc. You cannot drag items in WiFi though, this is to reduce lag. Each match is 4 races where players vote on a course but cannot change kart. You get points by finishing high in the races. The player with the most points wins!

Overall this is a really good game, but the music and gameplay can get a bit repetitive after a while.
