This is a game that is very playable. It has been on the SNES(super nintendo entertainment system) the N64(Nintendo 64) and the GBA (game boy advance). Now it has hit the DS with new tracks and new characters. Mario kart ds has 3 different playable options in the main menu: *Single Player *Multiplayer *Nintendo WFC SINGLE PLAYER The single players main theme is "Grand Prix", this is the option that alows you to race in 8 different cups that are split into 2 different grand prixes Nitro and Retro, when you win a cup you get a nice trophy each cup has 4 races. there are 4 different difficulty settings: *50cc *100cc *150cc *150cc Mirror These settings determine how fast you and the other carts go. Only the first 3 are unlocked when you first get the game you have to beat a difficulty setting and all the races in them to unlock characters, vehicles and 150cc mirror. There is also time trials where you can set records and vs those records. VS is not a big one it is the same as multiplayer VS but you dont play your friends. Battle is the same as multiplayer Battle but you dont play your friends. missions are a small optional part of the game where there are 6 stages each have a boss but to get to the boss you have to complete 9 small tasks(missions) to advance to him. once you beat a boss you advance to the next level where you do the same thing. MULTIPLAYER Multiplayer has two types of gameplay: *Normal *Simple Each of these has 3 options which you can choose VS, Balloon battle and shine runners. Normal allows you to battle and VS your friends who have the game. Simple allows you to play your friends who dont have the game. Normal has more cups to play in where as Simple only has the Mushroom cup (the first cup in Nitro prix) and the shell cup (first cup in retro prix). Normal also lets you choose which difficulty setting you want but Simple is stuck with 150cc. Normal you get to chose which character you want but in simple only the host gets to choose the cart and character that He/she wants. The other players are stuck with Shyguy (i think shyguy is the best). Balloon Battle lets you battle with shells, bananas, bomb-ombs and fake traps. The rules are simple you run around killing people. Shine runners is similar to balloon battle you run around collecting gold things and killing people to get thier gold things. The person with the most gold things wins NINTENDO WFC Nintendo WFC (Wi-Fi connection) allows you to do all the things that Multiplyer lets you do exept you need wi-fi and if you do you can battle people around the world and if your a part of a clan here on MYDS you can battle clan members.
