Mario Tennis is the spin-off title from the Mario world that is crying out for a Wii instalment. While we’re waiting for a new game built from the ground up for the Wii, the GameCube remake of Mario Power Tennis, as part of the New Play Control series, is the next best thing. I for one am a fan of Nintendo reviving some of their classic titles, updating the controls and visuals and introducing some new minor features to release them to the masses of Wii fans that may not have experienced the games when they were released the first time around. Round two in the Forgotten Format series of medals is the GameBoy Cartridge. The GameBoy was such a great portable system and Nintendo were the first company to get the formula just right. Great games, good battery life and most importantly durable. Check it out!

This highly anticipated title from Platinum Games, (and published by Sega), was in fact lucky to be released in Australia as it was embroiled in a storm of controversy over it’s incredible ‘over the top’ violence and profanity. But Sega has not backed down and before the ‘blood had dried’ on ‘The House Of The Dead: Overkill’, MadWorld was making its way to our shelves. Hardcore Wii gamers can breathe another sigh of relief – not only are they no longer an oxymoron, they have another impressive game worthy of a frown from the resident mother, wife or girlfriend. Should you buy a DSi? Well, that really depends on what you’re after. If you’re interested in the potential of DSi-exclusive games and you’re after an overall improved version of the DS Lite, then there’s no doubt that you should buy the DSi. Yeah, it’s a little bit expensive, but you’re getting a very good piece of hardware and the price is almost justified (when is a gaming console price in Australia ever FULLY justified?). If you’re happy with the DS Lite and the current DS game library, then stick with it and don’t bother with the DSi. It’s really difficult to recommend this to everyone because obviously everyone has different needs and wants. Personally, I’d buy it. At its core it’s a great handheld. Read More

"After many different tactical approaches, the Tom Clancy franchise pits gamers into futuristic aerial combat with HAWX (High Altitude Warfare—Experimental), a somewhat flawed yet relatively enjoyable and action packed title. Tom Clancy’s HAWX isn’t a perfect game by any means, but it succeeds at providing a genuine arcade-style flight-action experience, complete with very accessible menus and options. However, it’s not without its minor problems. Does it have enough fuel to stay in the air?" Read More

Survival Horror: Origins
Resident Evil 5 has finally hit the store shelves and has had gamers sweating their palms off as they push forward into the frightening campaign that it offers. For many Resident Evil 5’s tried and tested mechanics would have been reminiscent to the days of Survival Horror of the late 1990’s, but for those who didn’t get a chance to experience the golden era, let’s take a step back and see where Survival Horror has come from, and where it is heading with the current generation of consoles. Big name titles have begun to make the transition from home console to portable device in recent times. "Sex Drive was one of the biggest bombs of 2008. Although having a small budget of around $20 million, well small by Hollywood standards, the film went on to gross a poor $8.4 million in the US and another $6.4 million international. Despite poor box-office performance, the movie has been given a life-line, getting released in a deluxe 2-disc "unlicensed" edition." Read More.
