News \ Australian Gaming Sales for February 24
In this weeks (Feburary 18-24) All Format Gaming sales released by the industry tracker GfK, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics on the Nintendo DS has taken out the top spot for the second week in a row. The PS2 went on to take 2nd place while the DS came back for the 3rd,4th and 5th places. The PS3 took 2 places along side the Xbox 360's 3 titles as Devil May Cry 4 and Call of Duty 4 remain popular making it into the top 10 on both consoles.
The DS has once again been the strongest software selling system in Australia as it has been now for months. This possibly has something to do with its appeal to a mass audience. Gamers enjoy the system and perhaps more importantly to Nintendo so do casual players as shown by seven out of the ten games being in the family genre.
