Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto has confirmed that the Capcom is in talks with some big Hollywood studios to produce movies based on some of its more popular video-game franchises (Killer7: The Movie, anyone?)

"We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon," Tsujimoto told Bloomberg. "If realized, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries."

"We want to do with games what Marvel did with comics," Tsujimoto added. It’s promising that a studio is finally taking more care with its game licences instead of just throwing them away to hacks like Uwe Boll.

If Capcom is able to sign a big deal, the possibilities are practically endless. Even its less successful games like Dead Rising and Killer7 could make surreal films if handled properly by the right people.
