The folks over at Activision Australia sent the word today on Star Wars: The Clone Wars game shipping during the holiday season this year. Krome Studios is once again at the helm for the Wii version entitled Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels which given everything we've seen from Force Unleashed so far is a very very very good thing. However the game will be tacking a more family focused approach this time in line with the animated TV series. In your hand Light Saber action is also the focus this time around, though it's not known if they're talking the much hoped for 1:1 system or a much more gesture based one.
But that's not all as LucasArts Singapore along side Lucasfilm Animation will be sending out the portable version for Nintendo DS. Rather than a port or similar concepts, the game that will be shipping is Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance. While the gameplay mechanics aren't fully known yet, what we do know is that the title focuses on 'the awesome power when two Jedi join forces to fight as one.' The game will also be focused on stylus input than any kind of button mashing experience, which if the past has shown us anything, will be an absolute delight.
“Working on The Clone Wars chapter of the Star Wars Saga has been an exciting endeavor for everyone here at LucasArts,” said Feargus Carroll, project lead for LucasArts Singapore. “The intuitive and accessible gameplay on both the Wii and the Nintendo DS complement one of the most exciting Star Wars adventures yet.”
Look for them both this holiday season!
