Hardware \ My DS Lite snapped in two...Warning contains graphic images

Well, my 3 year old did it. He managed to get his hands on my DS lite while I had my back turned. I tried to get it back but it was too late - he opened the unit using both hands like opening a book, and snapped the hinge.

The DS still works though, but what to do now? Maybe i'll get a replacement shell, or just buy a new one...

dude it feels worse when you're actually looking at it in your hands - i felt a little pain in my chest when i first saw it snap.

maybe i'll try to superglue it first. if that doesn't work then i'll probably get a new shell.

yes the hinge still works, that's why i might be able to save it by using some glue. obviously it won't be as solid as before, i probably need to open the DS carefully from then on.

Yeah, true. Only glue the part that snapped off. Make sure you don't get any glue on the "R" button...or it's all over, red rover...

If you successfully pull that off, go to kmart and pickup one of those clear shell protectors. I've got one for my black DS. It's plastic, and it just covers the outside of the DS lite. It has hinges, so it could help to protect the broken DS a little more. It only costs $10!

phat, the funny thing is that i already have a clear shell protector, and my son still managed to snap the DS with it on.

the clear case now has a little crack near the hinge.

This same situation happened to my ds original snapped the same way and i was realy angrey. I am shocked that your not angry i would of went beserk. If it wasn't for my dad my original ds would have been retarded he fixed by buring the snapped area and made it like it was completly new, he even put my inisials on it, i have a ds lite but the original suits best if you can not burn it together try an expert that burn it .
