I found this cool homebrew project using the 80s books by Joe Dever.

Project Aon is providing the books in an online format with the permission of Joe Dever.

Someone has converted the first book Flight from the Dark into a game format for the DS. The game controls the stats and combat, allowing the player to concentrate on the story.

If you're not familiar with these books, they were an interactive style book where you created a character and each page provided a snippet of story, then allowed you to choose the next page to read, based on two or three choices. Some pages would result in combat or some other activity which you would solve through dice rolls and your character stats.

These were a bit more complex than your average Choose Your Own Adventure books, similar to the green covered Steve Jackson fighting fantasy books (for those of you old enough to remember them. )
