Fastfood giant McDonalds is set to launch a new downloadable service in Japan tomorrow through Nintendo DS download stations. The service will be available in 21 McDonalds restaurants located in Tokyo and in train stations along the Tsukuba Express line.
”Nintendo Spot” as the service is known as, will launch a trial period giving DS owners free McDonalds news menus and nutritional information. The service will also offer slightly more common information such as the weather, horoscopes, restaurant/hotel guides (although it would make sense if this was not available in McDonalds) and a Brain Training Demo. The trial ends in McDonalds restaurants on the 30th of June but will run until December 28 for the railway download stations.
There is no news on the service making an appearance outside of Japan, but assumable Nintendo will see the trial out before they give this any consideration.
