1. DS WI-FI is the internet on DS.

2. you get it by connecting your ds to the net.

3. you don't have to pay to use it (unlike Xbox live) you just have to pay for the hardware and the broadband. all you really need is broadband and a wifi access point. you can find a list of "SOME" compatible access points here. www.myds.com.au/
you might even be able to use it on dialup using a Nintendo USB WI-FI stick.

4. play with other people any time instead of only the occasional game with family or friends.

True. But if you dont have a wireless modem/router you can buy a Nintendo DS W-i-Fi USB conector.

Some EB games still sell them. Plus you can find alot of them on ebay: search.ebay.com.au/

If you have the internet conected to your pc you can use the usb conector.

How do I get Wi-Fi

You will need a Wireless router or a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB, which can be found in shops like Dick Smiths Electronics.

How Much

The only cost is when you buy the Router or the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB. It doesn't cost anything to play online, it's just using the internet, which goes into you're internet bill.

Benefits

You can play online with others, which makes games like Mario Kart last a lot longer and makes it more fun.
