There are 6 house expansions.

3 Nooks expansions.

A Nook expansion happens when you pay off your loan.

To get the final Nook expansion you have to have someone visit your town and make a purchase..you also have to have spent a total of 240,000 bells or more..which is really easy. There is no way of knowing how much you spend as far as i'm aware but once you start buying furniture for your house and stuff..I think it all adds up really quickly.

I was just thinking, I think that this would be possible but say you really needed an item for your collection, what if you opened your gates for people to come and go through your entire town to find this item, and you could pay them for it. Like a "player-sponsored" scavenger hunt.

The only thing is can you buy stuff off other players, or just trade?

Yep people do that.

You get given a stopwatch by Tortimer when you first start the game (you can also buy one from Nooks) and you could start the timer for say 5 minutes and see who gets the most fish in that time. The winner might get a bag of bells or a piece of furniture or something.

People do things called "Cat Swapping" too. Say Hespie has a blue table in his town and I don't have it in my catalogue yet..I can go to his town..put it in my pocket then put it back. Because it's been in my pocket, it's now a part of my catalogue and I can order it from my own Nooks in my town.

Awesome, it would be cool to organise little competitions between us. Like a monthly competition or something, because I know when I get bored of game I make up scenarios and things to get myself back into it.

BTW..not sure if you know this or not..buy a shovel..bury it in the ground and dig it up one full day later...you'll have a golden shovel then. It won't break.
