News \ DS best selling console of 2008
Nintendo have announced that the DS was the most sold console throughout 2008, making it the third consecutive year that it's held that position.
Research company GfK Retail and Technology Australia have confirmed that the DS has increased in sales in each of the past three years, including an amazing 800,000 consoles sold in 2008, of which 212,000 were sold in December alone.
The DS currently has an install base of 1.7 million units throughout Australia, which is more than 5% of the entire Australian population.
With popular games like Dragon Ball Origins and Metal Slut 7 hitting shelves recently and with GTA: Chinatown Wars coming to stores in the near future, things can only get better for the console that is breaking records everywhere. There's also the release of the DSi, which is selling well in Japan since it launched a few weeks back.
