News \ LucasArts Leaves ESA
Last week it was announced that LucasArts, of Star Wars, Indiana Jones and point and click adventure game fame (even though they haven't made the latter in over a decade, unless you count Escape from Monkey Island, which isn't point and click.... anyway) was leaving the Entertainment Software Association and it has now been confirmed.
Not familiar with the ESA? They're the lovely folks who bring you E3, support the ESRB, fight the government over censorship of video games and do the whole anti-piracy dance.
"Today, we can confirm that one of our members, LucasArts, has decided not to renew its membership. We value each member of our association, but respect the unique factors that led to LucasArts' decision." said Rich Taylor of the ESA.
Unlike Activision and Vivendi Universal who bailed out a few weeks before, LucasArts will still be stopping by E3 this year.
